Montelobos Espadin
Abel and Cuauhtémoc López Mateos create this Mezcal under direction of Iván Saldaña in Rancho Loma Larga, Santiago Matalán, Oaxaca. They use organic Agave angustifolia (Espadín).
The Agaves get cooked in an stone oven, grinded in a Tahoma. Fermentation takes place in open pine wood tanks without adding anything. Distilled in a copper alambic

Nose: wet soil, recently mowed gras, honey, citric fruits, asparagus and smoke
Taste: perfect balance between cooked and green magues, nuts, herbacity and smoke
